Things to do in Florence: escape the Cobblestones
Things to do in Florence: bike park ride
So you’ve been in town for a few weeks, have finally tucked the map away and can stroll the cobblestone alleys with ease. You definitively need to know new things to do in Florence. However, everywhere you turn is stone, brick, pavement, and you’re starting to wonder, “Does the color green actually exist in this city?!” We’ve seen enough rain these last few weeks, you would think the grass would be lush and lively, the vegetation overflowing, yet, you’ve only seen the hard, sun-kissed Florentine stones. This means it’s time to discover new things to do in Florence. What do you think about having a ride in one of the parks that surround the city? To the right you have the Cascine, an expansive park, home to college size grass quads, walking paths and benches. To the left, Viale dell’Albereta, literally street of the trees. A great biking, walking and jogging tree-lined path will wind you along the banks of the Arno for a relaxing afternoon away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
