Christmas in Florence
It’s Christmas in Florence, it’s that time of year again…
The air is a bit crisper, cheerful lights are up in the streets and vin brulè (see the recipe here) is being brewed in Piazza Santa Croce. The Christmas season is officially upon us and what better way to celebrate the holidays and explore all the festivities taking place in the city than on a bike? Head from the traditional Christmas market in Santa Croce to the ice skating rink by Piazza Libertà and then back into town for a holiday aperitivo with old friends. On bike you can move easily around the city and avoid all the slow Italians that are out for a holiday passeggiata.
Christmas in Florence on bike!
By bicycle you can take a tour of all the Christmas decorations and do all of your holiday shopping with ease. Just make sure to lock your bike — you don’t want it being someone else’s Christmas present! You can also stop into Tuscany Cycle for all of your Christmas shopping needs. We have many bicycle themed gifts that are perfect for all the cyclists in your life.
And don’t forget to check out Via Romana, where this year’s Christmas lights have a bicycle theme!
I found a very interesting article about how to take care of your bike during the winter, read it! Winter: bike maintenance
